starts with "why"
Our journey to Kourouta began with a deep love for its pristine sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and serene atmosphere. The charm of this place captivated us, and over time, we began to dream of creating a retreat where guests could experience the magic of this destination firsthand.
We are Pavlos and Maria, partners in life and in the passion that drove us to leave the fast pace of Athens behind. Our dream was to create a warm, tranquil haven where guests could escape, unwind, and craft their own cherished memories. For us, this venture was never just about business, it was a deeply personal journey, a legacy we are eager to share with our children. For years, we searched for the perfect place to bring our vision to life. During that time, we traveled across Greece and abroad, drawing inspiration from the places we stayed. We noted what made an experience truly special—and, just as importantly, what didn’t.
Then, in August 2018, fate intervened. On the last day of our vacation, as we were heading back to Athens, we noticed a “For Sale” sign on a property we had unconsciously admired countless times. In that instant, we knew that this was the one.
The following years were dedicated to building our dream from the ground up. Every decision was guided by a single question: How can we make our guests feel at home? From the choice of materials to the design of the spaces, we saw everything through the eyes of our future visitors.
Today, we are proud of what we have created. Our project is deeply rooted in the local community, as we worked exclusively with local craftsmen and businesses. At the same time, we prioritized eco-friendly materials and sustainable practices to minimize our environmental footprint. For our interiors, we collaborated with an Italian designer who added a unique touch to the décor.
This labor of love is more than a business—it is a legacy we hope to pass on to future generations. Our greatest joy is welcoming guests to Kourouta and offering them the chance to experience the beauty, tranquility, and hospitality that first inspired our dream.
